Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) – Next week, the Autism Council of Rochester will host a job fair for people who are on the autism spectrum.

The Autism Council of Rochester’s 3rd annual job fair will be held on April 17 from 2-4 p.m. at the Memorial Art Gallery on University Avenue in Rochester.

Some of the companies who will be at the job fair include the City of Rochester, Highland Hospital and Wegmans. Companies can be there to offer employment, volunteer opportunities, career assistance or simply community support.

“It’s very difficult for someone on the Autism spectrum to do well in a traditional job interview setting. Our job fair helps people with disabilities feel comfortable talking to employers about what they can do,” said Lawana Jones, founder and president of the Autism Council of Rochester.

More information about the job fair can be found here.
