The Elephants for Autism festival was started by Jerry Ryan, inspired by his son who is on the spectrum. Now in its seventh year, the festival raises money for different charities supporting people with autism. This year’s proceeds will go to MUZIQUE, a program that focuses on music therapy. Normally a multi-day festival, this year’s show will be condensed to one day, held from 10 a.m. to midnight, Saturday, May 19.
The festival will feature three different stages — two rotating outdoor stages and one indoor stage — jam packed with local music acts. Performers include Malcolm Tent, Bosom Band, Midnight-Khalid Quesada, Jessica Graae, Valentina Janie, the Arato Brothers and more. As always, the Watering Hole will offer food and drink specials throughout the day during the festival. So far, the venue will offer $2 Rolling Rock drafts and $5 appetizers, though it’s likely more will be announced day-of.
The Watering Hole is located at 6494 Weymouth Road, Mays Landing. There is a $10 cover. Find Elephants for Autism on Facebook for more information.
